Originally, I created this blog to covertly upload some photos taken in natural areas for use as reference for a chalk pastel drawing for my husband. I was working on it away from home, and decided this blog would allow me easy access to my reference photos.
With the wolf drawing nearly complete (and the surprise factor eliminated), I am changing the title of this blog from "Natural Inspiration" to "For Future Reference".

Natural Beauty
I have always loved the look of beech trees still clasping on to their leaves throughout the winter. The color (especially when back lit) brightens an otherwise somewhat dull landscape.
Moss provides more welcome color. Also, in winter (and early spring) the structure of rocks are easily seen when not obscured by foliage.
